Mother's day online sales rise 12%, says Ebit

E-commerce sales on mother's day 12% grew over the past year to 2.11 billion reais, according to a survey of Ebit, company specializing in information on the Brazilian digital retail, released on Tuesday. The survey conducted between April 28 and may 12 pointed 10% in high average value of purchases, for real, 459 and 2% growth in the volume of orders, to 4.6 million. Smartphones, televisions and perfumes were the most purchased products. "The improvement of the economy allowed people to buy more expensive gifts now on mother's day, including smartphones," said Andrew Day, Executive Director of Ebit. The mother's day period must match the 4% billing for Internet sales throughout the year, second only to Christmas, Black Friday and tying with the father's day, according to estimates of the Ebit.
